I'm all for more performance but to be honest there comes a time when you have to weigh cost versus gains. The better Mikuni knock offs are so good these days that the difference between them and a "genuine" Mikuni is not a lot , i doubt there is any really noticeable performance increase between the two , when you consider you are putting it on a 9 or 10 HP , $1000 motorcycle. I certainly wouldn't pay $500 ( there is a Yoshimura carb thats $500 -$700 that will fit Vaders and Hellcats ) .
If you put a good quality Mikuni " clone" on, with a new intake and filter thats as good as anything out there really assuming you get it jetted right ,the HP /perf gain between a $50 Mikuni clone kit and anything else is going to be negligible on a Vader or Hellkat. If you were building a 750cc name brand SuperBike making 150HP then I'd say by all means put hi dollar carbs on it , but for a $1000 chinese Grom clone, uhm no . I kinda feel the same way about EFI conversions, the total of those parts is going to be 400 - 500 bucks which is a lot of cash to pay for what will be about ( maybe ,and this is optimistic) a 1 HP or 10% gain ,and it is a very time consuming conversion
and NOT "plug and play" by any stretch .For what a EFI conversion would cost for the stock motor you'd be right at what a Zs190 swap would run and you'd pick up far , far more performance out of the 190cc than you would from putting EFI on a 125cc, plus gain that 5th gear the Zs190 has. Of course everyone is free to build their bike how they want but to me the whole idea of a Chinese bike is to keep the cost down while still having fun ,thats why i didnt buy a Grom because if you put a pipe and filter on one, you have to buy a $400 power commander ECU , where if you put a pipe and filter /intake on a china bike, you buy a 50$ carb kit .This is also why a run a $100 exhaust and not a $400-$500 yoshi pipe ,why would i put a $400 pipe on a $1000 dollar bike ? , Thats half of what the whole damn thing cost . anyways , sorry for rant but you can do a whole lot of other mods with the difference in the price of some of this stuff.

Need Float Specs for Go Power Sports "chinese mikuni"
Does an inch look like it could be correct?
A VM22 should be set at 24-26mm according to this chart. Hit the middle, call it an inch.
I think you have a knockoff (if not a clone) of a Mikuni VM22-133. So check out the specs for the VM22-133 for reference. It will probably be worth noting what jets are installed in the carb. I personally would look at jetting before the float height unless I knew for certain that the float height was out of whack.
But from what I can tell.... 25mm to answer your question.
If you need help with how to measure and/or set the height.

Thanks for the info I think you might be right about it potentially having the same float level as the vm-22 it is definitely a knockoff though so I was unsure if the float levels will be interchangeable. I do know that the jetting is not correct to the motor and I have a full set of jets for the carb to try but I have been told that the main jet wont change your Idle so I am going to focus on just getting it to idle before I deal with my top end fueling Issue I was having earlier.
The engine did run before I cleaned the carb with the settings it is currently on so It should work. That is the only reason I would suspect that I messed up float height. I also had a fuel leak out the vents and the air filter earlier which is another symptom of high float but I took it apart and put it back together and that stopped.
So Im gonna use this chart and see which is close to the current spec that it is on tomorrow to see if its close because I would assume that would mean I had the right specs unless I somehow got it very far off of spec.

NEW FAKE VM24 MIKUNI (Made in China)
The big drain plug you're talking about is actually a main jet quick access plug (main jet plug part #27) to help make jet swaps easier when racing ... It also serves the purpose of draining as you've stated and helps with fuel slosh , a cause of spluttering and intermittent hesitation over rough tracks , ruts , whoops and jumps etc by deepening the float bowl and allowing a main jet cover to be fitted ... The jet shroud/bell (main jet ring) is made of brass and has small holes drilled in it ... it traps fuel and keeps it around the entrance of the main jet at all times ...
It's part number 35 in these links ...

Sudco - Mikuni VM Carburetor Parts
I've only seen them on the VM-28's though ... but making a "bell" shroud was a mod we did to 22 mm Keihin carbs when racing worked XR75's ... The Keihins worked the best since they were already thoroughly sorted out by Hondas engineers except for the fuel slosh problem .. Mikunis bogged and carried on ... but people still used 'em because they were cheaper than the Honda carbs ...
I haven't tested the VM-24 yet but I've looked inside and they look clean and well made ...
I "won" the right to pay that price for the carb kit in an ebay auction ... luckily everyone else was being stingey because I had a max bid of $100 on it ... Anyone who thinks they've won ANYTHING on ebay that they have to pay for is a complete fool .... "Durrrhhh ... I won , I won ... now I just have to pay a higher price than anyone else on the planet was willing to pay ..." ... You should see the crazy prices some f'wits are paying for chinese made Australian model trains ... you also get loonies (Mainly Yanks) paying moronically high prices for old XR parts as if they're rare ancient Egyptian artifacts ...
