Fortnite’s challenges for week 6 season 8 will take you all over the map, but only one will take you to the top of it. This challenge sends you to the Fortnite’s five highest places, which means you’ll have to do a lot of mountain climbing to get it done.
To make sure you know where you’re going to need to go, we’ve put together a map that shows you were each peak is on the Fortnite island.
Unlike many challenges, which are pretty easy to complete in just one or two games, this one is a little more complicated. The easiest way to get to a mountain without farming too many materials is to land on them from the battle bus.
If you do that for every peak, this challenge will take you at least five matches. You can get to multiple peaks in a game, especially because several of them are group together on the west side of the map. But it’s going to take a lot of materials, and you’ll be vulnerable while you build your way to the top.
Where to visit the 5 highest elevations on the island in Fortnite - Season 8 Week 6 Challenge
There have always been towering peaks found across the world of Fortnite, and as another week of Fortnite Battle Pass Challenges roll around they feature in their own trial to visit the five highest elevations on the island. Much like the Fortnite furthest North, South, East, and West points that had their own challenge back in Week 2, small notice signs have now appeared on top of the five highest elevations on the island, confirming their status as well as the actual height of the mountains in question. We've been to all five of the peakiest peaks, to bring you their exact locales so you can quickly find them.

Where to visit the 5 highest elevations on the island in Fortnite
As you can see from the map above, several of the Fortnite highest elevations are grouped together, with two reasonably close in the snow biome, another two even closer to the east of Snobby Shores, then just the not very inconspicuous volcano over on the other side of the island. The exact locations for these peaks are as follows:
Let’s get the obvious ones out of the way first. If you’ve dropped into Season 8 you’ll know about the giant volcano that towers over the map - it’ll erupt at the end of the season, watch this space - so head over to the very top of grid H4 on the map. You might need to use the volcano’s air jet to get to the right place, but you’re looking for this little sign that tells you you're 172 meters up. Get near it and you’ll tick off your first location.
The second can be found at the island's Season 6 addition, Polar Peak. You’ll find the sign you need in grid C7, right at the very top of the castle that was keeping the Fortnite prisoner locked up.
The next ones are slightly trickier as there’s not much different in height between the mountain peaks, but a short hop over from Polar Peak you’ll find the stranded submarine perched on top of an icy peak 130 meters up in grid B8. If you don’t directly drop here out of the bus you’ll need to build up to it, so bring some mats with you.
The fourth sign is on top of the mountain in grid B4, northeast of Snobby Shores on the map. Just like before, head on over to it and tick it off - dancing once you reach the summit is entirely optional.
And finally the fifth sign is just a short distance away in grid C5, at the top of the stunt mountain peak with the circle of trees. And that’s it - you’ll get 5 Battle Stars for your trouble, which should get you one step closer towards that coveted Battle Pass Tier 100.
Working on the other challenges this week? Then make sure you visit a wooden rabbit, a stone pig, and a metal llama in Fortnite and search where the knife points on the Treasure Map loading screen in Fortnite.
Where to find the 5 highest elevations in Fortnite
The Season 8, Week 6 challenges are now live in Fortnite. In these challenges, one takes you to new heights all across the map.
The first Free challenge you’ll see is “Visit the 5 highest elevations on the island.” While this may seem like a simple task at first, some of the highest elevations are not where you may think. So where are they exactly?
If you need some help completing your other challenges for the Week 8 Discovery Skin, check out our previous challenge guides.
Here are the five highest elevations on the Fortnite map:
An obvious first choice, the volcano is situated in the new jungle biome. In order to get the progress for this challenge, follow the path up to the top of the volcano or simply land on it. Once you see the challenge bar give you your progress, you can move on to the next peak.
Villain’s Mountain Lair
The next stop on your elevation journey is going to be the Villain’s lair near Snobby Shores. Landing on top of this mountain is the easiest way to scale it. Remember, simply going into the Villain’s lair will not work, you will need to go above the lair.
Mountain next to the Villain’s Lair
Directly east of the villain’s lair is where the next highest peak is located. Impossible to miss, it is the giant mountain that housed some shopping carts and ramps in earlier seasons. Make your way to the top of this mountain and you only have two more peaks left.
Polar Peak Castle
In the snow biome is where the next two highest elevations are found, the first being Polar Peak. The ideal way to get to Polar Peak is to simply land there, as it is tough to climb without wasting a lot of materials. Once you are there, go to the top of the castle that is situated in the northern part of the location.
Frosty Flights ice mountain
The final stop in your highest elevation journey will be near Frosty Flights. A little southeast of Frosty is where a giant ice mountain is located. This is the fifth and final peak you will need to climb. Once again, landing on top of this mountain is the easiest route.
That’s all of the highest elevations on the Fortnite island! We hope this was helpful in completing your Week 6 challenge.

A new set of weekly Battle Pass challenges has hit Fortnite: Battle Royale.
One asks players to visit the five highest elevations in the Fortnite island to get a few Battle Stars and get closer to that tier 100 Battle Pass. Players should be able to complete this challenge in any standard or Limited Time game mode, including those with respawn enabled like Team Rumble. Playground is the only exception.
Players have to be in front of a small wooden sign that shows the elevation of that are to progress through the challenge. Just landing in the surroundings won’t count.
Finding some of the highest elevations in Fortnite is intuitive at first. There’s an enormous volcano northeast of the island and a named location that’s literally called Polar Peak. These two are the highest ones, but finding the other three might be tricky.
Here’s the map with the five highest elevations in Fortnite. You can visit them in any order you want. You can find below the detailed location of each sign on these areas.
Most people would guess that the volcano is the highest elevation in the game. They’re right. You have to go all the way to the summit and check the sign to the south.
It’s no coincidence that this area has “peak” in its name. Go to the ceiling of the castle north of Polar Peak and you should see this small sign to the west.
A submarine stuck on the summit of a mountain southeast of Frosty Flights is the third highest elevation on the map. You’ll have an easier time getting there if you land on it instead of building toward it.
Shopping Cart mountain
This mountain south of Pleasant Park used to have Shopping Carts for players to drive down a ramp and fly a short distance. It’s the fourth-highest elevation in Fortnite.
Snobby Shores mountain
A mountain northeast of Snobby Shores is the fifth-highest elevation in the game. Players can go there and find the sign near a rock to complete the challenge.

Fortnite Highest Elevation locations explained
Specifically, the highest elevation locations are as follows:
The volcano, in the north-east of the map. It's easy to spot, but note the actual highest point is on the south rim of the volcano. If you land in the wrong place, you can always jump inside, open your glider and find the right point again.
Mountain north-west of Snobby Shores, the one with the three rocks. You're in the right location if you see the highest elevation sign post.
Mountain south of Pleasant Park, with the ring of trees and ramps on the outside. Again, you know you're in the right spot if you find the highest elevation sign nearby.
Polar Peak, on the roof of the tallest part of the castle:
Submarine on the glacier in the map's frozen region, to the south-east of Frosty Flights:
