Hi, I bought A650 sound bar from bestbuy and I’m trying to connect my existing rear Samsung speakers SWA 900s model. I’m nog able to connect then. Does this model work for A650 sound bar? Appreciate your help.

The HW-A650 Soundbar is compatible with both the SWA-9000S and SWA-9100S Rear Kits. After connecting your rear speakers to the receiver, plug your soundbar into an electrical outlet and turn off the soundbar by pressing the power button on the main soundbar unit. Configure "ID SET" by pressing either the VOL button or the Up button on your soundbar's remote. Hold down the button for 5-6 seconds until the “ID SET” message appears on your soundbar’s display. Turn the soundbar back on using its remote or by pressing the Power button on the soundbar itself. Some soundbar models will automatically power on after completing the "ID SET" steps. The LINK LED indicator will stop blinking and glow a solid blue when a connection is established between the soundbar and the wireless receiver. If you are still unable to pair the rear speakers after trying these steps, please contact Samsung Support so we can better assist you in connecting your rear speakers to your soundbar. You can reach us at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

Samsung TV Won’t Connect/Work With Soundbar

It’s widely accepted that a soundbar is almost essential for getting good sound from your TV. With the ultra-thin bezels of Samsung TVs, there isn’t any room for decent speakers. Technology can be demanding at times, and pairing a soundbar to a TV doesn’t always go according to plan, so what do you do if your TV won’t connect to your Soundbar?

If your Samsung TV isn’t connecting to your Soundbar, put your Soundbar in Bluetooth pairing mode and select the Soundbar in the TV’s settings by navigating Settings > Sound > Speaker Settings > TV SoundConnect > Add New Device > On.

We will be going over various issues related to why a soundbar might not be connecting or working with your Samsung TV. If you would like to learn more, read further on!

Samsung TV Won’t Connect to Soundbar: Causes / How to Fix

Samsung TV Won’t Connect to Soundbar: Causes / How to Fix

Samsung TVs have a feature called Soundconnect. This is essentially just a way for the TV to pair with Bluetooth soundbars. It is usually a painless process, simply turn on your Soundbar, press the Bluetooth pairing button (or use your Soundbar’s app), and select the Soundbar from the TV.

Naturally, it will be very frustrating if the Soundbar isn’t showing up, but you don’t need to panic just yet; there are several reasons why the Soundbar might not connect to your Samsung TV. Here are the steps you should take to ensure that everything is working correctly.

Turn On SoundConnect (SoundShare)

First and foremost, SoundConnect needs to be enabled for the TV to detect Bluetooth speakers. The feature will be in the TV sound settings; simply navigate Settings > Sound > Speaker Settings > TV SoundConnect > Add New Device > On.

It’s also essential to ensure that the TV supports Bluetooth soundbars. If you have an older TV, there is a chance that the TV won’t support Bluetooth connectivity, which would mean that you would have to plug in a soundbar directly – usually in the AUX or HDMI port found in the back.

Ensure That the TV Is Set to Enable Sound Through SoundConnect (SoundShare)

Next, the TV has to be set to produce sound through SoundConnect. In the same menu where the SoundConnect settings are, you will see Speaker Settings as an option. Change the settings to SoundConnect.

Reset the Soundbar

Suppose the speaker is still failing to connect to your TV. Try factory resetting it. The steps to do this will vary depending on your model. If the Soundbar has an app that you can pair it to, there will usually be an option to reset it there.

Check if Your Soundbar and TV’s Bluetooth Functionalities Work

You can try to pair your Soundbar to another device, such as your smartphone, to determine the Bluetooth connectivity functions correctly. Similarly, you can test this with your TV as well; if you can pair the TV with other devices, then the issue lies with the Soundbar itself.

Samsung TV Won’t Work With Soundbar: Causes / How to Fix

If your Samsung TV doesn’t work with your Soundbar, ensure that the Soundbar is in pairing mode. Depending on your model, you’ll have to press a button that allows other devices to find it.

Next, on the TV, navigate  Settings > Sound > Speaker Settings > TV SoundConnect > Add New Device > On. And on the same menu, make sure that the TV is set to produce sound through SoundConnect. This option should be labeled Speaker Settings.

It’s also worth mentioning that not all Soundbars are Bluetooth enabled and will have to be plugged in directly to the TV’s AUX or HDMI port. Similarly, older Samsung TVs may not support Bluetooth connectivity.

Samsung TV Won’t Automatically Connect to Soundbar: Causes / How to Fix

Samsung TV Won’t Automatically Connect to Soundbar: Causes / How to Fix

When you turn on your Samsung TV, you would expect the Soundbar to automatically connect/turn on with it.

If the TV isn’t connecting to the Soundbar when you power it on. Navigate Settings > Sound > Speaker Settings > TV SoundConnect > Add New Device > On. From there, follow your Soundbar’s pairing instructions; you may have a Bluetooth pairing button that you need to press that allows other devices to find it.

Next, on the same menu on the TV, go to Speaker Settings and ensure that the TV is set to produce sound through the Soundbar.

Samsung TV Remote Not Working With Soundbar: Causes / How to Fix

Samsung TV Remote Not Working With Soundbar: Causes / How to Fix

Samsung TV remotes forego infrared technology and instead use Bluetooth. This allows the remote to work with the TV and other devices such as soundbars.

If the Soundbar is successfully connected to the TV via Bluetooth, optical cable, or HDMI, navigate Settings > Sound > Sound Output on the TV. Next, select the Soundbar that you want to use and exit the settings menu.

From here, you should be able to control the Soundbar with your Samsung remote.

Samsung TV Not Turning On Soundbar: Causes / How to Fix

Samsung TV Not Turning On Soundbar: Causes / How to Fix

If your Samsung TV is not turning on the Soundbar when powering the TV, This could be because the Soundbar isn’t selected as the default speaker.

If the soundbar has Bluetooth connectivity, using the TV remote, navigate Settings > Sound > Speaker Settings > TV SoundConnect > Add New Device > On. After ensuring that the Soundbar is connected, select Speaker Settings on the same menu and select the Soundbar as the default speaker.

You can also plug in the Soundbar via HDMI. If this is supported, the TV will automatically use the Soundbar as the default speaker when Anynet+ is enabled.

Pro Tip: Samsung Soundbars Work Best With Samsung TVs

Pro Tip: Samsung Soundbars Work Best With Samsung TVs

If you recently bought a new Samsung TV and found that your current Soundbar isn’t playing well with it and none of the troubleshooting tips above have worked, consider a soundbar upgrade (after ensuring that your TV is functioning correctly first).

Samsung makes soundbars at various price ranges, and they all sound great. The Samsung HW-T450 is an excellent value sporting Dolby Audio and a dedicated subwoofer for a powerful, clean sound. Here is a video review if you are curious about this Soundbar:

Additionally, the remote it comes with is designed to play well with Samsung TVs and comes with useful features such as dedicated buttons to boot up Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

If you want an even better sound system, the Samsung HW-Q60T will offer you an authentic surround sound experience. This particular kit comes with the Soundbar itself, a Bluetooth subwoofer, and two wireless speakers designed to act as a rear speaker kit.

You’ll also get to enjoy DTS Virtual:X, which is a 3D audio technology that makes the sound seem like it is surrounding you rather than simply being blasted in front of you. This is coupled with Samsung’s Acoustic Beam Technology, which transmits sound where the action is happening. For example, a plane that is flying above will sound like it is actually above you.

Final Thoughts

Most users have difficulty pairing their Samsung TV to a soundbar due to settings related errors. The Soundbar will need to be in pairing mode, and you’ll have to navigate to Samsung SoundConnect.

You’ll also need to set the Soundbar as the default speaker; otherwise, the TV might go back to using the built-in speakers after you have turned it off. If connecting via HDMI, you’ll need to enable Anynet+.

Samsung soundbars will work the best with a Samsung TV since they are designed to play well together. It isn’t necessary, but you benefit from a smoother connectivity process.

Samsung Q600A Soundbar \u0026 Subwoofer Review

Wondering how to connect Samsung soundbar to subwoofer without remote? In this post, you will learn how to manually pair both devices and install a digital remote to control your configuration!

To connect your Samsung soundbar to a subwoofer without having a remote, you must download the Samsung soundbar app to your phone. Then, pair your phone with the soundbar. Now that your phone is a remote, hold the ID set button on the subwoofer for several seconds and pair the device.

We understand that this quick explanation won’t work for one of you that are not quite familiar with how pairing works.

In that regard, we made sure to explain everything in detail at your disposal.

How To Sync Samsung Subwoofer To Soundbar Without Remote?

To sync your soundbar with a subwoofer, you first need to download the Samsung soundbarapp to your phone.

It is clearly stated that you will be unable to connect the soundbar to the subwoofer manually without using the assistance of any remote control.

This is why Samsung created the digital remote within their app that will help you control your soundbar even when you aren’t in possession of the hardware remote product.

Here we will explain how to pair a Samsung soundbar with your phone in some easy steps!

How To Pair Samsung App To Soundbar?

Now that we’ve thought of a way to control your soundbar without the factory remote, you must establish the connection between your phone and the soundbar.

Here is how to pair in a step-by-step tutorial:

Step #1. To download it, go to the app store on your phone and type Samsung Soundbar app in the search bar.

Step #2. Locate the first result and download the app.

Step #3. Wait for several minutes for the Samsung app to finish downloading and install it.

Step #4. Enter the app and navigate to the Options.

Step #5. From the options, scroll down until you find the option labeled as “digital” or “wireless” remote.

As soon as you press this option, your device will start looking for a nearby soundbar to pair with.

Note:Make sure that your soundbar is up and running with Bluetooth turned on.

Otherwise, your phone won’t be able to discover your soundbar and the process will fail.

How To Turn On Soundbar Bluetooth?

If you’re not certain whether the Bluetooth of your Samsung soundbar is turned on, you can make sure by pressing the source button on the device repeatedly.

Keep pressing the button until the soundbar’s display lights up and says BT > WAIT > BT PAIRING.

After these texts, the soundbar’s display must say BT Ready.

This means that your Samsung soundbar is now discoverable by eligible devices nearby and it is ready to be connected to.

How To Manually Connect Soundbar With Subwoofer?

Now that you know how to establish your soundbar, you will finally be able to pair it with your subwoofer.

As we’ve briefly mentioned above, you must have the Audio remote established and ready to go for the process to succeed.

Otherwise, you will reach a moment when without the digital remote, you can’t tell the soundbar to pair with a subwoofer within your configuration.

To explain how to connect the Samsung soundbar to subwoofer without remote better, we’ve provided you with some simple steps to follow during the process.

Step #1. Make sure your soundbar is running and its Bluetooth is also enabled too.

Step #2. Open the Samsung soundbar app on your phone and enter the digital remote.

Step #3. If you’ve already paired your phone with the soundbar, wait for several seconds for the devices to connect.

Step #4. Hold the ID set button on the subwoofer connected to your configuration for several seconds.

A blue LED on your subwoofer should start blinking, which means that the device is waiting for a soundbar to pair.

Step #5. Release pressure from the ID button and through the digital remote app, press the Upward button on the remote on your screen and hold it down for 5 seconds.

Step #6. As soon as you release the upward button on your digital remote, ID SET will appear on the soundbar’ screen.

The moment you see the ID set on your soundbar’s display, it means that the subwoofer has been successfully connected to your soundbar.

Now that you’ve successfully paired the subwoofer with your soundbar, don’t worry if you still don’t have a remote. You can use the digital one the same way as with the usual one.

How To Automatically Connect Soundbar With Subwoofer?

If the manual way didn’t work for you, you can try the automatic pairing which does not include a remote either.

Whenever plugged into a wall outlet, the soundbar should start looking for a subwoofer connected into the same configuration.

If it does locate one, both devices should start pairing automatically and remote will not be necessary!

Simply connect both the soundbar and subwoofer to the back of each and then plug the power adapter into a wall outlet. Both devices should launch immediately and start the pairing process.

Note: You will know that your subwoofer is pairing if the blue LED is blinking.

If it doesn’t stop blinking after a while, however, the process might have failed and you have to re-do all steps again.

We hope that now you know how to link Samsung soundbar to subwoofer without remote and if for some reason your Subwoofer refuses to pair, read what’s next.

Samsung Subwoofer Doesn’t Work When Connected With Soundbar?

If your subwoofer doesn’t work when connected with a soundbar, it might be having severe malfunctions.

Here are the most commonly reported causes:

1. Faulty Connections and Wires

It is a possibility that there is an issue with the cables connected to your subwoofer.

2. Faulty Outlet

If the outlet you plug the subwoofer in isn’t working, the device will not work too.

3. Faulty Menu Settings

If the settings configuration of your soundbar doesn’t match the ones of your subwoofer, there could be interference.

4. Check the Volume and Verify Functionality

At last, you can check the volume of your subwoofer and make sure it is up and running!

Pairing your Samsung soundbar to a subwoofer might seem challenging but it is all a matter of patience. With the help of the smartphone application, you can now establish a connection between the devices without the actual remote.

All you need to do is get familiar with the application and all its advantages.
