Season 12 skins

Season 12 skins DEFAULT

Season 2 of Chapter 2, or Season 12 of Battle Royale began on February 20th, 2020 and ended on June 16th, 2020 (originally April 29th, June 3rd and June 10th). The theme of the season relates to the two major groups, Shadow and Ghost, along with the theme of gold and spies.

The map was updated to include five different spy "hideout" POI's, all of which have henchmen patrolling the area. In addition to the henchmen, each new POI includes an AI boss of the Battle Pass skins, which drop Mythic versions of weapons upon defeat.

The Battle Pass tab was remade to resemble the Save the World screens, with the interactive screen being a spy hideout.

Teasers and Hints

Starting February 17th, Epic Games released a daily series of teasers that hints about the upcoming theme of the season.

  • Teaser 1, "Transmission Intercepted ████████ ████ == ████ ████"

  • Teaser 2, "Transmission Intercepted FN.CH02.S02 ████ == ████ ████"

  • Teaser 3, "Transmission Intercepted FN.CH02.S02 Origin == ██ ████"

  • Teaser 4, "Transmission Intercepted FN.CH02.S02 Origin == Au 022020"

  • Teaser 5, "Classified == ████ ████ == ████ Codename == ████ FN.CH02.S02 022020"

  • Teaser 6, "Classified == Unredacted ████ == ████ Codename == ████ FN.CH02.S02 022020"

  • Teaser 7, "Classified == Unredacted ███ == Kaboom Codename == ████ FN.CH02.S02 022020"

  • Teaser 8, "Declassifeowied ████ == ████ ████ = ████ FN.CH02.S02 022020"

  • Teaser 9, "Declassifeowied ████████ == ████ Last Seen Location = ████ FN.CH02.S02 022020"

  • Teaser 10, "Declassifeowied Subject Appearance == ████ Last Seen Location = ████ FN.CH02.S02 022020"

Teaser Analysis

  • Teaser 4 has a map in the top right corner with a bunker sticking out. The map appears to line up with the coast south of Dirty Docks and east of Retail Row, which means more terrain will be added to the area.
  • Teaser 5 was thought to confirm the return of Dynamite, as the icons are the exact same. This turned out to be actually teasing the TNTina outfit.
  • Teasers 6 and 7, when brightened, show an oil rig out in the water. Teaser 7 also has a map in the top left corner showing the island with the oil rig off the coast. Specifically, the map perfectly lines up with Shanty Town and the southwest parts of Slurpy Swamp to give us that the new oil rig POI will be south of Shanty Town and west of Slurpy Swamp.

Beginning daily on February 17th into February 18th, at a certain time, players when returning to the lobby would see the Fortnite News, but it would be glitched or corrupted, and it would glitch to the final teaser for that day. In this case the gold face with chaos agent’s mask in front of it.

On February 18th into February 19th, players were shown a similar screen, but would instead show gold nuke saying the word “KA-BOOM” on it.

On February 19th into February 20th, players were shown the same screen, it showed a gold familiar cat called “Agent Meowscles”. Interestingly, the cat's head is similar to one shown in the Feline By Design Loading Screen.

One thing to note is in teasers 4, 5 & 8 it spells MIDAS. Midas is the name of at least three members of the royal house of Phrygia. The most famous being called King Midas is popularly remembered in Greek mythology for his ability to turn everything he touched everything into gold. This came to be called the golden touch, or the Midas touch. This is why all the teasers are gold. As the theme is typically hinting us to a golden type season.

Before the season started, users on both the r/FortniteBR subreddit and the official Fortnite discord server began to be "activated" by a bot known as "The Agency".

Battle Pass

Main article: Battle Pass Chapter 2 Season 2

The Battle Pass for Season 2 costs 950 V-Bucks, and is a way to earn exclusive rewards during the season by earning XP and increasing your level. The rewards included in the Battle Pass include: Outfits, Gliders, Wraps, Harvesting Tools, Back Blings, Emotes, Sprays, Contrails, Music, Loading Screens and more.

The Battle Pass tab has been reworked and is now an interactive spy hideout that includes the Battle Pass itself, challenges, and upgrade vault, and more. The pass itself includes new features never before seen, such as rideable gliders and a fully customizable skin. Fitting with the theme of the season, each skin (excluding Gear Specialist Maya and Agent Peely) has a selectable style which is permanently chosen, either Shadow or Ghost.

Challenges have been greatly changed this season. Challenges no longer have their own tab, and now fit into the Battle Pass tab, along with multiple other details, and are now available through the Challenge Table. Challenges are separated into multiple different groups: A tab for each unique set of challenges, such as Midas' Mission and Maya's Challenges, a tab for Suggested Challenges, one for Daily Challenges, and a tab listing all the challenges to be completed. When a challenge must be completed, the hologram on the Challenge Table will hold the information. When a location is listed to a specific location, a number will be placed at that location based on how many challenges are required to be completed there. Challenges also include unique icons, such as a chest, explosion, exclamation point, and multiple others.

Throughout the season, more Agent Challenges became available. The available challenges are Brutus' Briefing, TNTina's Trial, Meowscles' Mischief, Skye's Adventure, and Midas' Mission. These types of challenges are unlocked weekly and by completing them, special styles for the Battle Pass skins become available. However, only one out of the two special styles, Ghost and Shadow are available to collect for every player. The Challenges are available until the end of the season.

In addition to Agent Challenges, Gear Specialist Maya had challenges as well, called Maya's Challenges. These challenges were unlocked mostly weekly, each challenge giving the availability to change a certain design of Maya. These Challenges are available until the end of the season.

On March 25th, Oro and the Midas' Revenge set suddenly became temporarily available in the Item Shop, and along with it, the Awaken Oro Challenges. These challenges mostly consist of teamwork related challenges, and when completed, will reward two cosmetic items part of the Midas' Revenge set along with a large amount of XP. These challenges were removed on April 1st.

On April 21st, Travis Scott's Astronomical Challenges became temporarily available due to the Astronomical Event soon to begin along with a large set of Travis Scott items later being introduced in the Item Shop. The challenges consist of most tasks to complete north of Sweaty Sands. The rewards consist of a loading screen, a banner, and a spray and emote. These challenges were removed on April 26th.

On April 30th, the Location Domination Challenges became available. The challenges work in a similar way to the Stretch Goals Missions from Chapter 2 Season 1. Each challenge consists of completing a unique task at specific locations, and the reward consists of XP, where each stage grants more XP than the last stage. The challenges are available until the end of the season.

On May 26th, the Storm The Agency Challenges became available along with the Lone Shadow set. The challenges are mostly based on the agency and other spy bases, with the rewards consisting of a harvesting tool, a wrap, a glider, and XP. Due to recent season delays, the challenges will temporarily stay available until the end of the season. This is the last challenge set of Chapter 2 Season 2.

All Tier 100 Fortnite Skins ranked

Fortnite has been providing us with skins for over two years. Take a look at all Fortnite tier 100 skins as we rank them from worst to best.

We’re 16 seasons into Fortnite at this point, and 15 Battle Passes deep. We’ve seen hundreds of skins come and go with varying degrees of originality. Some are still in Battle Royale to this day while others are collecting dust in a crowded locker.

Not all Fortnite skins are created equal. Today, we’re looking at the Fortnite tier 100 skins and ranking them from worst to best. Let us know your opinions in the comments!

16. Vendetta: Season 9

The Vendetta is my least-favorite tier 100 skin of the bunch. The non-upgraded version is lame and the final stage leaves a lot to be desired.

This one was one of the most uninspired tier 100 skin, in my opinion. It doesn’t look very good, either, which is why it’s placed at the bottom of our rankings.

15. Ice King: Season 7

The Ice King is a skin you’ll hardly ever see in a modern Fortnite match. It’s not the ugliest skin we’ve gotten as a tier 100 reward, but it isn’t far off.

The reason this is so low, though, has to do with the size. This skin is massive and clunky, making you feel like an easy target when you’re wearing it.

14. Ultima Knight: Season X

The Ultima Knight is, simply, an addition to the OG Black Knight that ranks much higher in this list. This is a poor man’s Black Knight and everyone knows it.

Not only is the skin unoriginal, but it’s large and clunky when you rank it up. Anyone who already has the Black Knight won’t be rocking this version into battle

13. Dire: Season 6

The Dire skin is one of the cooler skin concepts Epic has added as a tier 100 skin. The werewolf skin, while interesting, is probably among the least popular skins you’ll see in the game.

The base skin is boring and the upgraded version is too big – two ingredients that lead to a bottom-half ranking.

12. Ragnarok: Season 5

The Ragnarok skin sits right in the middle of the pack. It’s not horrible, but it’s not great, either. The upgraded skin is a little busy for my taste, so I take everything off and roll with the topless bald man.

11. Fusion: Chapter 2, Season 1

The Fusion from Fortnite Chapter 2 is decent but relatively boring. You’d be hard-pressed to find a player still wearing this skin – especially since there were far better options in the same Battle Pass.

I had this one high on my original rankings (from C2S1) but time has knocked it down to just inside the top-10.

10. Rick Sanchez : Chapter 2 Season 7

Fortnite season 7 rick skin

Being able to play as Rick Sanchez is pretty cool seeing as he’s the most iconic character in one of the most popular animated series in recent history. His unique cell-shaded style makes him stand out from other skins, and his smug look makes it seem like every elimination is a cakewalk.

Rick is lower on the list because of his lack of utility and inevitable plummet in popularity in a few seasons. His cartoon style makes him stick out like a sore thumb in-game. His head is a massive target. And players will likely only use this skin for the next season or so.

9. Omega: Season 4

The Omega skin suffers from many of the problems as of the other bottom-half skins: it’s unathletic. That is until you take all of the armor off of the outfit.

I rock this skin stripped-down, just as I prefer the Ragnarok skin. It looks sleeker and cooler that way, in my opinion. The base Omega skin squeaks it into the top-10 – especially since you can change the color on the stripped-down version.

8. Mandalorian: Chapter 2 Season 5

This might be a controversial placement, but I’m not a huge fan of the Mandalorian skin. Fans of the show will probably like it more, but it didn’t really do it for me.

Sure, the customization options are there, but you’ll never go back to the pre-upgraded armor like you could with some of the other tier-100 skins. Baby Yoda is a hit, but the Mando skin leaves a lot to be desired.

7. Luxe: Season 8

The Luxe was the number-one tier 100 skin in my book for a long time. This is one of the only tier 100 skins that I still regularly wear when I play Fortnite, and one of only two female skins in the group.

The real reason this one ranks so highly is the back bling. Those golden wings are at least the second-best back bling reward in any Battle Pass.

6. The Reaper: Season 3

For some, the Reaper is going to be a number-one tier 100 Battle Pass skin. I understand this argument, but I never liked it, myself.

There were some bugs during Season 3 that caused Epic to hand everyone several Battle Pass tiers for free. The result was that almost everyone who bought the Season 3 Battle Pass got the Reaper skin, which is one of the reasons I never really liked it.

Despite my personal bias, I recognize that Season 3 was the golden age of Fortnite and this skin brings back the feels. It’s well-deserving of a top-five finish.

5. Spire Assassin: Chapter 2 Season 6

Fortnite Spire Assassin

The Spire Assassin is the latest tier-100 skin added to Fortnite in Season 6, and it jumped right to the top-five in my rankings. This skin comes close to the best we’ve seen in Chapter 2, but it’s too early to tell.

It’s always hard to rank a skin while the season is currently underway, but I’m betting that Spire Assassin will be a common sight on the Fortnite island long after Season 6 concludes.

4. Eternal Knight: Chapter 2, Season 3

The Eternal Knight is a strong contender for the best tier-100 skin in the history of Fortnite. All of the variants are cool and unique and the customizable pickaxe is another huge point in favor of the outfit.

Along with only a few others on this list, the Eternal Knight is still a common sight on the Fortnite island. As long as players are still wearing the skin, it deserves a high placement on this list.

3. Midas: Chapter 2, Season 2

Midas remains a favorite of a lot of Fortnite players, whether you’re using his Ghost, Shadow, or all-gold version.

The Midas skin is the best of both worlds. He’s slender, which means he doesn’t take up much of your screen, but he’s still a cool and interesting character whose outfit goes well with a lot of different combinations.

2. Iron Man: Chapter 2 Season 4

Come on, it’s Iron Man. This is how you do a tier-100 crossover skin, and the Mandalorian was a huge step back from Tony Stark in the previous season.

With one skin, you get both Iron Man and Tony Stark – which you can switch between in-game. If you leveled up the Battle Pass, you can also play as Gold, Silver, or Holographic Iron Man/Tony Stark. It’s hard to see this as anything less than a top-rated skin.

1. Black Knight: Season 2

I know, I know. The Black Knight isn’t technically a Tier 100 skin. It’s a final-tier Battle Pass skin, though, so it’s worth including on this list.

The Black Knight is the classic. It’s the OG. Wearing one of these skins doesn’t mean that you’re good, but it does mean that you’ve been playing the game for a long time.

The Black Knight takes the number-one spot because it’s one of the most aesthetically pleasing final-tier skins we’ve ever received. It’s not my personal favorite, but it carries a certain amount of significance for OG Fortnite players.

What’s your number-one tier 100 Fortnite skin? Let us know in the comments.

ROYAL GUARD - Which variant do you prefer?

One of the first concepts that were posted was by SneakyBroArt and if you are familiar with their work, this should not surprise you.

Nickmercs is one of the most recognizable streamers on Twitch, known for his witty antics and his humble personality; this skin captivates it all.

Of course, Nick's signature spartan logo is the theme of the skin, posting four variants all with increasing levels of armor equipped. We can also see they even added his famous backwards hat, which is pretty much all we can see when he is playing Fortnite.

Since Nick is one of the most humble Fortnite creators, a future skin for the streamer is far from impossible; in fact he could be one of the first ones we see next season!

STREAM SNIPERS - Pretty much a guaranteed phrase if you tune into one of Tfue's streams

Perhaps the most prolific Fortnite streamer right now, Tfue has been the king of Twitch ever since his rival, Ninja left the platform.

Currently the most followed streamer on the platform, and averaging anywhere from 20,000 to 35,000 live viewers any night.

His icon series skin was created by D3NNI_yt and captivates everything we know about Tfue.

Since Tfue rose to fame, he has frequently been compared to one of the default skins in Fortnite; so much so he even started his own clothing line around the default tag.

This fan-made skin, in cooperates every bit of Tfue that we can think of for a skin; from his headset to the shirt that says Tfue.

It will be hard not to assume he will be getting a skin sometime soon since he is such an ambassador of the game.

RUN IT UP - Valkyrae is one of the most popular 100 Thieves creators

Zenofy was the next artist to creator a skin after a content creator, and it was none other than the 100 Thieves star Valkyrae.

Rae has seen a dramatic climb to fame over the last year or so, she was another one of Fortnite's overnight stars it seems.

From working at her local game store to joining 100 Thieves to most recently signing an exclusive deal with YouTube Gaming, it has been quite the year for Rae.
